PROs: - lunch buffet got me full. - lunch buffet on the weekend - only $9 CONs: - the wait-staff/owner dinned with customers when I arrived - did not refill the Chicken Tikka Masala and Tandoori Chicken when empty - mediocre selection - spinach dish did not include paneer

Fairly good Indian food. Love their hand made naans despite a little wait for your food to come and a little pricey dishes with relatively small portions.

OMG love this place! I forgot to check in - ZAMMIT!! anyways, they have an all you can eat buffet for $8. unlimited naan, dal, sag paneer, chicken curry, veggies, raita, salad, samosas, and more. food is not spicy, but ask for the chili sauces, and make it happen. flavors are super on point, and its hard to say anything bad about here. I am definitely here a lot!

I have been looking for a Indian place to go for lunch. I was really looking forward to this place after reading the review. When I got there, I stood there trying to figure out if I seat myself, if someone was going to seat me, or I go to the buffet line. I saw a co-worker and he told me to just get food and sit down. Overall it was alright. The chicken was very dry. There was one lentil bean dish that had no flavor. Parking lot is tiny. There were not many choices in the buffet. I was a bit confused about the Nan. When I sat down, they brought me Nan without asking any questions. A table of 5 next to me sat down and they asked for Garlic and got it. So not sure if that is part of the buffet or they paid extra but no one said anything. Now the Samosa were really tasty - had a nice kick and they had this potato/veggie dish that I really enjoyed. I would go back and give this place a try but I prefer finding a location that offered a few more options.

Tucked away in a ultra-mini-mall, this place is easy to miss as you're driving past on Lincoln. After finding parking on the street, we seated ourselves at a table and ordered the appetizer sampler (brilliant), garlic naan bread (wonderful), lamb saag (flavorful), and chicken biryani (the only so-so selection). My wife also tried a lassi yogurt drink, which I was amazed to find that she liked; the last yogurt drink she had tried was at a Persian restaurant and had twigs floating in it. The menu is fairly large and diverse with options. Service is attentive, although not overly friendly.

You can't beat the lunch buffet all you can eat for under 10 dollars. Everything was good. Service was great. Unlimited Naan. Everything was just the right amount of spicy. I was stuffed!

I wish they were over on the East Side where I live, because my go to Indian Food place recently closed down. However, I ordered delivery, so I have no comment on the restaurant its self. I ordered over the phone, and the gentleman was very nice, but very difficult to understand. I ordered three of their dinner options: two vegetarian, and one Tandoori chicken. At about $12 each, they are a great value. They included the main dish, a side, rice, salad, and naan. Enough to make you wish you didnt cram the whole thing into your face so fast, because now you feel like you might explode. The food was of course very good, not too greasy like some places can get. Im glad they are around because whenever I am on that side of town I am always looking for somewhere to eat, and am usually disappointed or do not wish to pay a fortune for whatever there is. I highly recommend checking them out.

Great food and friendly & prompt service for both dinner and the lunch buffet. Located in a small strip mall next to Domino's with limited parking; the lot in front of Bristol Farms next door is good alternative. Lunch buffet was small but quality-- small serving dishes so everything was fresh. Some of the best buffet samosas I've had: not soggy at all! Unlimited naan too! Dinner menu is pretty extensive, so ask your friendly servers for some guidance and house favorites if needed. Combo plates were a great choice.

  • Sonal P.

This place disappointed me. I think the only part of my lunch experience that had me excited was the Naan that come nice and hot from the kitchen. The food was mediocre and I felt like I could cook better than it. I felt like it lacked taste and a nice Indian spice/smell to it.

Food was below meh. I love Indian food, especially tandoori and tikka masala. Unfortunately, this place did not deliver the flavors I expected from Indian cuisine. The food was lukewarm, and totally flavorless.

For some time, we had been hearing a lot of good things about Taj India Palace from our neighbors here in Westchester. Last night, bored with the usual pizza, Thai or Mexican choices, we decided to give some Indian "take away" a try. Delicious things come to those who wait! Samosas, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, garlic naan: that's a solid lineup of Indian classics that did not disappoint. The samosas were crisp and fragrant. The chicken tikka masala was light on the chicken, but the exceptionally tasty sauce more than made up for it. The saag paneer was a flavorful side and the garlic naan....oh, the garlic naan....was fresh, hot from the oven and loaded with garlic. We got a double order and fought over every last bit. Tasty on its own or for sopping up the tikka masala sauce, that naan was a slice of buttery garlic heaven. So looking forward to the leftovers tonight. If only we had some naan....

Solid indian food. Friendly service. Once my girlfriend and I (who are fans of spicy food) told them not to be scared and really kick it up a notch. They were only too happy to comply. I think we both got about 4-5 bites down before the fire shooting out of our eyeballs and mouths consumed the entire restaurant in flames. Otherwise, very delicious and reasonably priced.

Hey - not bad at all - pretty much seems like comfort home cooking Indian buffet. Simple - fresh - let me repeat - VERY FRESH - tasty - what else can I ask for? Before I forget - the naam bread was outstanding!

Unfortunately I can't give them more than 1 star. I just got back from this restaurant with terrible feeling. I and my boyfriend went there tonight and ordered 1 appetizer and 2 kinds of curry. At the beginning, we are enjoying an appetizer but we saw something came out from the food... it was a piece of long steel. They said it's from scouring pad... Finally they served new plate for us but I feel scary to eat anything from them. Then we ate half of curry and ask to checkout and found out they charged us an appetizer plate of scouring steel pad inside. We won't go back never again.

We love this place. We've been going for dinner about once every 2 months since they opened. The owner and his family are Westchester residents, care about the community and are some of the nicest restaurant hosts around. The dining room is rarely full, as I think parking situation is not ideal. They seem to do a great take out business. However, even if you have to walk a block or two, the food is worth it. Our favorites are the tandoori chicken, lamb saag, dal, and great chicken tikka masala (though I wish there was a larger chicken to sauce ratio in the last one). Their naan is perfect. They don't have a liquor license, but you can BYOB and they don't charge corkage.

  • TEK Z.

Delish!! Cheap too, best Indian in the area. Doesn't serve alcohol I don't think so walk to the petrol station on the corner and Byo some!

Love this place! Ravi has created the perfect little Indian buffet in a tiny strip mall in El Segundo. The decor is casual but lively, and the food is simple, but amazingly fresh, clean, and consistent. The service can vary depending on who is working, but lunchtime is prime time, and I'm nearly always greeted with a smile. Go more than once or twice and you'll be greeted as a regular. Skip the lot and park on the street if you need to - the location won't draw you in. But, once inside, grab a plate and get ready for some of the quickest, tastiest comfort food in town.

Purely about the phone number/ delivery service. I've tried calling multiple times on different days during the times listed on yelp. Only once did someone answer and they barely spoke english, hanging up on me. All the other times I get the voicemail for the Taj Palace. Maybe there is another number?? I'm a delivery freak and really want to try this place out.. Why is this so complicated?

A little bit better than last time. I was craving Chicken Tikka Masala like crazy so I went for it today. It was around 4pm and there was one couple eating in the corner. I just did take out and I ordered Chicken TIkka Masala and an order of basmati rice. It was relatively prompt, and service was okay too (not really friendly though). Food tastes okay and the quality was definitely better than what I had for the lunch buffet. And I know I sound like such a fatty but I thought for the price the portions were too small. I paid around 11 for the chicken which tasted good and the portion was ok. The rice was like 4 dollars and it was so tiny, I definitely had way too much chicken left over. I'm not even a big girl and I totally killed the rice so definitely a point of improvement. Other than that just okay if you've got a bad craving for it. I went because of the convenient location but next time I think I'll try a different place.

I hadn't had Indian food in ages, so I jumped at the opportunity to get some deliciousness after I dropped my parents off at LAX. I yelped for the closest 4+ star place near the airport, and ta-da, found Taj India Palace. I didn't realize until I arrived, but I had just been to this mini plaza about a week ago satisfying a hot coffee urge after (freezing) kayaking at Marina del Rey. The parking lot has something like 6 spots, which is inconvenient, but when I went on Sunday at around noon, it was almost empty. Lucky me. They have an $8 lunch buffet from 11-2 daily. But knowing how picky I am, I decided to try the menu, despite almost doubling the price of lunch. I ordered the lamb tikka masala, settled into my seat with some reading material (I was by myself that day :C) and waited for my food. There were only a couple other tables of customers, all perusing the buffet. The lamb arrived and it was DELICIOUS. The softest chunks of meat ever, and the yogurt sauce it was with wasn't overpowering or too spicy. I got the plain naan to go with, and every bite I took was fantastic. I took about half of it home, because it was surprisingly filling. The lamb tikka masala was just as good reheated, but the naan (as expected) became untasty. I mixed it all with rice and had the rest for dinner on a different day. I only wish I had come with more people so I could have tried more dishes. Also, next time I might even go for the buffet - I saw someone eating some really yummy looking sweet potatoes... Also, everything plus (a solid tip) was $17, I think.

One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Lunch buffet has a great selection at a reasonable price. Also great for dinner and take-out. All around great place with friendly service.

I was in the mood for Indian last night so I placed an order through an online service. The food was delivered in a very, very timely manner and it was delicious! They followed my instructions regarding leaving the cashews and raisins out of the rice (something many places forget) and the chicken tikki masala was fantastic. Finally, the most important thing to me is that the driver / delivery person was incredibly courteous. IMO, few things are worse than a grumpy discourteous delivery person at my frount door. Taj India had a driver that made me feel happy I gave them my business. I adore Indian food, so I will definitely order from them again...and again.

Drive by this place all the time. Normally I go for thai food when I have a night to myself, but this time I was craving Indian. So I decided to try this and was not disappointed! In fact I'm a little embarrassed to admit I have gotten take out twice in 1 week from here since I had to have my fiance try it too! We have had the chicken tikka masala, saag alu, garlic naan, and my new favorite the chana masala. Everything was piping hot and tasted fresh. Prices are reasonable and service was quick. Definitely my new go-to place for when I don't feel like cooking!

Excellent food. I went to LA last week after 3 years and tried this place again. Food was still awesome. Great job in maintaining quality for food. Whatever dish we tried, all were awesome with authentic Indian taste. If you are staying near LAX, they can deliver to your hotel room as well.

I went to this restaurant because it is near my office and got good reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately, the food was awful. I'm giving it 2 stars because I did not get sick and the staff was attentive. The saag had no paneer or spices and tasted as if someone had just opened a can of spinach and dumped it in the steam tray. The moong daal was tasteless as well. The sweet rice lacked flavor but the fruit was nice. If you like Indian food don't eat here.

We order food from here about once a month, and all I can say is the food is amazing. We always have the same order, but try to add one new item, it is consistently good, portions are generous and the food is amazingly cheap. They also deliver to El Segundo which is a huge plus. Definitely give this place a try, best Indian Food I've had in LA.

  • Samira H.

So good. SOOO GOOD! The butter chicken is some of the best I've had, maybe even to die for. The garlic naan is also tasty, but I found that the tandoori chicken was lacking in flavor. I'd also recommend ordering the saag paneer and chicken tikka masala. If you can take advantage of the lunch buffet ($8.95 for all-you-can-eat), you should definitely do so. There are so many flavorful dishes on Palace's menu, and you can sample some of the best ones while saving a bundle of money if you eat at the buffet. Overall, the place has a comfortable atmosphere, and the staff is very friendly. A major plus is the complimentary pistachio ice cream they serve at the end of the meal.

Wow! I finally found good Indian food! This place looks like a great place to go for dinner. We went for lunch which is a 7.95 buffet allowing you to sample whatever the Chef decides to roll out. Today, the meats were Chicken Tandoori and Tikka Masala. Vegetables were Saag Paneer (Spinach), Mixed Vegetables in a Curry sauce, Rice, Dal (Lentils), Salads and fruits. Dessert was Kheer, a rice and coconut pudding. (Think non-Cosby kind of pudding.) They brought out fresh Vegetable Samosas and Naan (kind of like an Indian eggroll with vegetables inside and bread). I tried a wee bit of everything and ended up doing seconds on the Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken and their Valencia Oranges were phenomenal. The Saag Paneer is some of the best I've had. The Tandoori chicken was better as dark meat (leg) than the white meat which was a little overdone for me. Service was excellent and the dinner menu looks awesome. The ambiance is simple and nice. You can actually see the Tandoor oven just behind the buffet. If I remember correctly, these get to be about 725 degrees! I'll definitely be back to try their dinner menu, and give these guys a shot to earn 5 Stars! (We found this place due to Yelp!..Thank you, Yelp'sters!)

For Indian delivery, this place is excellent. It was quick, not too expensive and they offer just about everything you could want. Chicken Vindalu, Chicken Biryani and the samosas are my favorite. My only suggestion is to request more spice if you are expecting a traditional spicy meal. The 'normal' plate wasn't bland, but definitely didn't have the kick that was expected.

We were near LAX so we decided to try Taj India Palace for something a little different since it got relatively high reviews on Yelp. The restaurant is located in a very small strip mall and when you are driving you just see a sign "Indian Food" before you pull in to see that it's called Taj India Palace. On a Monday night at 6pm, we were the only patrons of the restaurant. This is definitely a family owned restaurant. One unique feature of the restaurant was the wooden door that looks like it was imported, it gave the restaurant a nice Indian feel. The gentleman who brought us to our table was the owner and he was really friendly and nice. We ordered some Indian favorites of ours: chicken pakora, chicken tikka masala, malak paneer (cheese and peas in curry) and some garlic naan and roti. The service was a bit slow. The ladies who served us wore traditional saris and seemed to be in no rush to bring us our food or to check in on us after we got the food. They did come by to refill our waters which was great but we had to flag her down to order a second order of roti since she disappeared after she refilled our waters. The food definitely had a home made feel to it. The naan and roti were yummy. Why the 2 star? Well, both of us felt really sick about an hour or two after eating here. Maybe what we ordered was too heavy but it did not sit well in either of our stomachs after. Reminded me of the episode of SATC where Harry and Charlotte's romantic french dinner went awry.

Best thing going here is the Naan, fresh out of the oven. Slightly crispy on the outside, doughy soft on the inside. The rest is pretty standard fare. The chicken tikka masala seemed unusually red in color, and the spinach seemed darker than usual. The samosas were okay. As others have mentioned, the choices on the lunch buffet are pretty limited.

    (3)
  • Noah B.

Get the samosas. They're amazing. This hole in the wall indian restaurant has some of the best Indian food in the city. I get this catered to my work at least once a week and I try to go there at least once a month.

By far, my favorite Indian (and I've tried many) on the west side - I love them so much that even after I moved I order via Grubhub and pay extra for delivery... at least once a week. Addicted? Yes. My favorites are: bengan bharta, saag paneer, and chicken masala. When I want spicy, I order lamb vindaloo or chicken makhani. The delivery is fast and everyone is friendly.

After reading great reviews, my wife and I decided to go here for dinner. Every aspect exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, we had some sort of sampler dish with several types of chicken, lamb, and fish. All were very tasty. We also had one of the vegetarian curries. In addition to the great food, the service was first class. I can confidently say they provided the best customer service I have ever experienced. The only hang up was the absence of alcoholic beverages. However they were happy to provide glasses for a bottle of wine we brought.

Don't let the dog/pet shop deter you from coming here. I know a restaurant right next door to a petshop doesn't sound too appetizing, but if you can get past this, you won't regret eating at Taj... You can tell a lot by an Indian restaurant's ability to execute their chicken tikka masala and I must say, this restaurant passes with flying colors. My only complaint with their masala sauce is that it's a tad bit too creamy, but other than that, it's great. Next, their prices are reasonable. If you want to try a good variety of entrees, come out for their lunch buffet for $7.95. If you miss lunch, the average entree is about $12 and is good for about 2 ppl. Finally, customer service and the ambiance are great! The owners actually took some time to make the place look and feel like you're in India and not some hole in the wall. The waiters are attentive and if the owners are around, they'll even come by to check up on how your meal and experience was. -1 star for: slow take out service, location, and chicken tikka masala is not included in their combo meals. Almost everyone who first gets introduced to Indian food love chicken tikka masala. It frustrates me that I can't enjoy this and other delicious entrees without having to either catch their lunch buffet or burning a hole in my pocket by ordering separate entrees.

This review is only about food ordered for delivery. Being English I like to think I know my Indian food. The boyfriend had never tried it before so we opted for Indian for a Sunday night dinner and have never looked back since! This was about a year ago and is the only place we get Indian food delivered from! Ordering over the phone is quick and easy, we went in once to order and wait for the food to bring home and the service in house was just as friendly. Here's a run down of what we've tried: Paneer Pakora - this was great, crispy and tasty Chicken Pakora - this wasn't as good, chicken tasted a little dry and rubbery (go with the Paneer Pakora instead) Chicken Tikka Masala - NEVER FAILS Chicken Madras - good but not the best chicken dish they have Lamb Vindalu - every time we have ordered this the lamb has been cooked to perfection Garlic Naan - great Rice - never been dry or tasteless. Food is always delivered at the time we're told and arrives piping hot. Mouth is watering, I fancy Indian food now!

Stopped here for the lunch Buffet, pretty good, reasonable priced. A lot nicer on the inside than the little plaza it's located in. If I hadn't checked it out on Yelp first probably would have never tried it. Only complaint was that they open at 11am but buffet was not ready until about 11:20. Nan bread was very good, nothing was very spicy but it all had a nice flavor.

  • Jonathan N.

I went for lunch and did the buffet. I would never. ever. do the lunch buffet again unless all I wanted was chicken curry. The only reason they do not have 4 stars from me is because there was only 1 chicken curry that was offered. When I eat indian food I want some goat, lamb, or beef. Other than the poor poor selection in a buffet, the food was not bad. Tandori chicken was not dry and had a lot of flavor. Enjoyed the naan bread(made fresh for you while you're there) but it was a little on the buttery side.I would rather order off the regular menu than the lunch buffet.

If people are out toward LAX Airport, this Indian restaurant is a nice quiet escape from all the noise. Typically, I go here for lunch because of the lunch buffet special for $8. Given the few variety of dishes they have there, it may not be much, but it is very good and can fill you up after 2-3 plates. The mango lasse is my favorite drink, and normally, just the hot fresh naan and curry sauce is enough to make me feel satisfied. The service is good - polite, gentle - not intrusive or hurried to get you out of the store. The music played in there is soothing and the decor is peaceful. Actual cloth tablecloths and napkins, along with the nice vibe - it's hard to not like this place. I have been here for dinner a few times, but given the price to quality ratio, it's not worth it in my opinion. There are better restaurants for that price. But it's hard to go wrong with lunch.

  • Nathan G.

I've had takeout here several times. This place is reliably good - rich and tasty flavors. If you ask for spicy, it will be spicy, especially if were talking about things tike chicken makhani or tikka masala. Other favorites: Bengan Bharta (eggplant), vindaloos, and their samosas are good as well. Delivery is friendly and reasonably fast, all the way up to Santa Monica if necessary. Can't go wrong here it seems.

LMU school food isn't very friendly to both my taste buds and my stomach, but I'm also a broke college student who can't eat out much. However, on one of the rare occasions I got to eat off campus, I came here with my boyfriend who was visiting. I got the Lamb Korma and my boyfriend the Chicken Korma. I love Indian food, but I'm not super familiar with it, but wow, this Korma makes me want to eat Indian everyday. Creamy, perfect sauce-- not too salty, very delicious, and really flavorful. Not a huge fan of the chips they gave us, but the entrees were the obvious stars anyway. The staff was friendly and attentive and made us feel very welcome :) The area around LMU doesn't have many great eats, you have to head to venice and santa monica for that, but Taj India is GREAT!

My boyfriend and I are big fans of Indian/Pakistani cuisine (he is Pakistani) and we come here often. Although it is a bit pricey, it is very good. The place is very clean, the service is excellent, and they are always friendly. The food is delicious, the vegetable samosas are good and chicken pakoras are TO DIE FOR. Chicken Saag (chicken with spinach) and Chicken Tikka Masala are our favorite dishes from here. Along with garlic naan and white rice, it is always fresh and yummy. If you are looking for dessert they have the BEST raas milai EVER (cheese patties in sweet milk) They are very small but will not disappoint. Another plus is that they deliver. So it's convinient for those who don't have a method of transportation or don't feel like going out of the house. If you are new to this type of food or are looking to eat on a budget, during lunch hours they have a very good buffet. It is inexpensive and you get to try everything.

The food was okay, decent. Nothing to rave about. The gravy of most of their chicken dishes could use some more taste and flavor. I wouldn't really go back unless in a no-choice situation

Thank you Taj India Palace! Thank you Ravi & Priti! You are a true gem in Westchester! Had a large agency/client/crew meal to pick up/cater today and Ravi & Priti made it happen! The food was fresh and delightful and the service was sublime! Menu: Vegetarian Samosa Papadam, Chutneys, Raita & Salad Vegetable Curry Bengan Bhartha Saag Paneer Garlic & Plain Naan Tandoori Shrimp Chicken Tikka Chicken Tikka Masala ALL WINNERS! Nothing was greasy or over salted. Poultry and shrimp were succulent. The spice level was the perfect "heat" for a large and very fussy crowd. The Indian faire-aholics were satisfied and the novices are now devotees. The leftovers were fought over. ;) Thank you again for brightening our Sunday lunch on a very short notice!!!!

Stumbled across this place on the search for a lunch spot that didn't consist of the 3 S's; Sandwich, Soup, or Salad. I wanted to mix it up a little. Taj's has a pretty sweet deal for lunch where they put out an "all you can eat" buffet for $8.95. From the looks of it, it looked pretty good. So I went in for take-out and unfortunately they didn't allow me to pack a to-go box with their buffet items, which I totally understand. So instead, I took a gander at the menu and ordered their Keema Samosas, which had ground lamb and peas, deep fried (automatically makes it good), with not one but two different dipping sauces: mint sauce and sweet tamarind sauce (mix these two together, you got something really special). For my main course, because I eat like I was feeding a family of 5, I ordered the Chicken Tikki Masala, which is one of their specialties, respectfully. Very good and huge portions aka got my lunch set for tomorrow. You got huge chunks of marinated chicken breast swimming in a delicious yogurt and creamy curry sauce. The only 2 downfalls for me were not necessarily deal breakers because their food is packed with flavor! The Tikka Masala did not already come with rice or something to eat with it on the side. You had to order the basmati rice separately. Also, I have this issue with most restaurants because I'm Southeast Asian so we LOVE our spice. I love it when places allow you to choose the level of spiciness. You automatically think, they can take a bit hit, more than the average person. I always request "extra spicy", unless I know the place is just crazy! So I was super excited when the nice man asked me how spicy I wanted my Tikka Masala. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't as spicy as I would have liked it! But like I said, a lot of places are like that because they cater to the taste buds of their average customer. But overall I enjoyed the food and I would definitely eat at Taj India Palace again.

Maybe I just got them on a bad night, but the chicken tikka massala was passable but not very good. Also the chicken pakora (sp?) were kind of dry.

This place has a near-identical menu to Tandoor-A-India on Pershing-- same organization and prices and all-- but the food is definitely less good. Not sure if they're related but if so, the inconsistency is strange. Anyway, the food was alright but nothing spectacular, especially with Tandoor so close. The chicken tikka masala was kindof watery and light in spices and flavor. Not eager to pay $11 for that, especially because it doesn't even come with white rice.

Decent lunch buffet - though not very large, there are options for everyone: papad, rice, veggies, meat, salad, fresh fruit and kheer. I always like their veggie options (I'm vegetarian), and my husband absolutely loves their chicken. Aside from the buffet several times, we've been there for dinner and gotten the thali. Also quite good. Friendly table service - don't expect the sardar-ji making the naan to give you a smile, though. ;-) The parking lot is teeny and awkward, so if you're comfortable turning on a time, you'll be fine! Delivery is also offered, but since I live in Inglewood, I don't think they come this far.... but if you're close to it, why not give it a try?

After ordering in from many different Indian places in the area, I have to say that Taj is by far my favorite. Food: I love their shai paneer and veggie pakoras. Their naan is also excellent! They don't make their food very spicy so if you are in the mood for some actual heat you Need to ask for it. Service: Their delivery service is excellent! They are always right on time and are very nice and pleasant (although I am beginning to think they know my fiancee and me by name because we order from there so often..). Over I give them an A!

Met a business partner who flew in from India. Very picky vegetarian gentleman. He absolutely loved it so if you want true Indian cuisine near LAX, this is it. The people are great.

Thanks yelpers for helping me find new local favorite Indian place! Woot! Ok, it's a cute little place in a mini-mall. You can tell that they care about their space - clean with creative decor. The maitre'd/host/waiter was attentive, but not overly. Got our lamb samosa apps out quick. I didn't know I liked lamb, but the samosa was crumbly, flavorful goodness, especially with the green spicy chutney. He also refilled our waters often. Which brings me to the best part: you can bring your own wine or beer! Your waiter will open it and bring some glasses for no fee! Food-wise, everyone enjoyed all of their dishes, and how often does that happen? One gal wanted lamb sag and was happy to see that they had a special combo plate for $11.95. My other friend got a veggie combo plate for the same price. I got the CTM, as I always do. The CTM was creamy, spicy and good. Tender chicken - what you want with CTM. I only wish that they had a special for it. Everything was spiced how we requested (me medium, and they got mild and hot). The server even brought my friend a special salad/salsa plate when she said she liked spicy food! We all agreed that this would be a spot we would frequent in the future. I'm definitely a fan!

Love this place. The buffet choice is decent the and fresh. No dried up food. The naan is made fresh is you come in and free with the buffet. The service is instant and for $8 for all this it is unmatched!

Taj India Palace is alright with me. I've always had good service, and the lunch buffet is decent and priced for value. The only thing I really don't enjoy is the parking...but there is plenty of street parking during the afternoon. The food itself isn't going to blow you away--but it's decent and fast. As my boyfriend said, "it's not the best, it's not the worst." The people that work here are friendly and nice. The dishes in the buffet are a good, solid selection of standbys (Palak Paneer, Tikka Masala, Raita, salad, naan, etc.) that are always consistent.

For $7.95, it is a good lunch deal for AYCE Indian buffet. The offerings are not as much as Shershah, but for the price and quality, you can't go wrong. A lot of good things have already been said, so not much I can add other than there is a parking lot in front of the restaurant, but it is probably just easier to park on the street. I went to lunch here the other day. It has been a few months since I have eaten here. I noticed some differences. They now fix up the tables a little fancier, putting wine glasses with hankerchiefs and I noticed the staff was different. I am not sure if the owner went on vacation or he sold the place. He was very nice and friendly...not that this wait staff wasn't, it was just like he knew you were a frequent customer and would treat you very special. Also, we usually get some fritters along with our naan, but we didn't get it this time...so it makes me think that the ownership has changed. The food and price is still good, so it is still a good goto lunch spot.

Attention LA denizens and especially LMU students: 1. THEY HAVE A LUNCH BUFFET. 2. The lunch buffet is bountiful and fresh and tasty. 3. It is very reasonably priced. ($7 or so when I used to live in LA) 4. It provides a healthy variety of food (veggie, meat-eater, fresh salad, and fruit - not a common discovery at most buffets) for a healthy meal. 5. It is located within walking distance to LMU's campus. 6. Parking! (they have it!) 7. It is family owned and operated and the husband is a very sweet and pleasant man. The first time I went there with my boyfriend, he came over and personally attended to our every need and then remembered us when we went back the next time. GREAT service. 8. Samosas. so good. 9. LUNCH BUFFET!!! Definitely a place worthy of your habitual patronage.

Slap my ass and call me Susan!!! I knew I could count on my fellow Yelpers and they didn't dissappoint. Had to pick up a friend from LAX and decided to take advantage of being in LA by going to a well recommended Indian Restaurant. Taj Indian Palace is in an odd little strip mall corner, but once inside, you are ready for the BEST Indian food this side of the hemisphere. It was so good, as I voraciously ate up this divine food and got some on my face, I almost ate my own head trying not to waste any of it. I almost divorced my wife in a vain attempt to not let her get any more food. I am looking for local apartments so I could live closer...I have left them in my will...I am naming my first born after them...I want to die, and then be reincarnated as one of their plates so I am constantly exposed to their food!!! Only complaint is they don't sell alcohol, but you CAN bring your own, so that one negative is not worth the loss of a star. Can't WAIT to visit again....I might go on Craigslist and see if anyone is loking for a ride from the IE to LAX just so I have an excuse to revisit!!

I'm really tough on Indian food and this restaurant serves up pretty decent stuff. The buffett is decent but the food off the menu is really well done-- I suggest spending the few extra dollars for the menu option. The staff is really friendly and do a great job. The buffett is 8$-- def. not bad for the quality of the food.

I LOVE this place! It's my favorite Indian food in the area. I never been to the actual restaurant but I have ordered delivery several times! The chicken tikka masala and the lamb curry are out of this world! The chicken and lamb pieces are nice and tender. I can't get enough of it. I always get naan and white rice to go with. Both are really good. It comes with the green and red chutney, which are very delicious. The prices are reasonable and they delivery is quick!

Got into LAX on Christmas night and needed a good place to eat that was actually open. Taj Palace exceeded expectations. Food was all great, particularly enjoyed the chili naan and shrimp vindalu. The wait staff were all very nice, but the only complaint was things were a little slow.

Went for lunch buffet today. cost was 8$+Tax. I am a vegetarian, so limited choices. This is a very small buffet, compared to other restaurants. Naan+Rice+Dal+MixVeg+Saag+Pakoda+Raita+Paapad+Kheer(+couple of Chicken Items) The Naan at this place was Absolutely Amazing. Very Soft, fluffy, fresh! Other than that, the other stuff were just avg...or may be below avg. I asked the guy if they have onions...he said No. Well, if you want nice customer relation, you should say "let me get some for you". Doesnt cost you much and goes a long way in pleasing indian customers :-) Would have given 2 stars, gave 1 star extra just for the Naans :-) I am sure there are a lot better places to eat in this area than this one.

Finally found a great Indian place close to us. We'd often drive to East India Grill up in Mid-Wil/LaBrea which we like too, but it's kind of far. As I said in another Indian food review of mine, my family has loved Indian food forever but we don't like to adventure much. Here's pretty much all we've ordered in as long as I can remember eating Indian food. We don't like to fix things that are not broken. Appetizer of some sort, usually samosa Curries - chicken saag, lamb tikka masala, shrimp regular curry Eggplant (bartha) rice naan Ordered it here and it was excellent! Everything was just perfect. Also great service from the manager/owner. It was our first time there and he treated us like regulars. Will definitely be our local go to Indian place from now on. Other info: BYOB Parking can be kind of a pain but I think you can park in the big shopping center.

We have been ordering delivery from this place since they opened a few years ago. The food is always great! We love the chicken tikka masala and the vegetable samosas the most, but everything we have ordered has been wonderful. They are not only the best Indian food in the area, but the best delivery food you can get around here. To top it off, the people who work there are always very courteous and extremely appreciative of the business we give them. We will definitely continue ordering from Taj India Palace!!

If you like bland tasting indian food with the smallest selection for a buffet ever, this is your place. Indian food when prepared correctly is a delight for your taste buds because of all the spices. You barely pick up any of the flavors of those spices here. They only had two meat items. What the hell? The naan tasted like only water and flour. $11 for one drink and the "buffet" had me feeling like I was robbed. Their giving me the check during the middle of my second plate was rude and felt like they were telling me to get out. No problem given their shitty food. Skip this place.

We have drove by Taj Indian countless times and never stopped. After a recommendation from a friend, I now feel like we need to eat here every night for the next year to make up for lost time! We had the chicken tikka masala, vegetable curry, and garlic naan. Everything was delicious and the service was wonderful. All employees were kind and attentive. We will be going back!

The food is actually really good and the staff was friendly. It's just not nearly as good as Hurry Curry on Venice and it's like twice as expensive. It's worth driving a little further for Hurry Curry.

Close to LAX. Easy in and out. Open all afternoon, which is a bonus for me. Usually after buffets, places close. Had paneer makhani and vegetable korma with plain naan. All very good. Will go back.

I was hopeful that this place could be my new Indian "local" when I read the reviews here, but I have to admit that I was underwhelmed. That's not to say that the food isn't good - it is, it was just a bit more bland than what I am used to. I've had some *amazing* Indian in my time - this comes in as acceptable. Bottom-line, will I go back again? Yep. The Butter Chicken (called Chicken Curry on the menu) is good but could be a little more flavourful, the Garlic Naan is great, Basmati rice as good as rice can be, and the Palak Paneer was... meh. Generally OK but again, lacking some punch. Oh, and they deliver... and it's free!

I've been to this place in the neighborhood twice now and can say it has solidly decent Indian fare at fairly reasonable prices. We came once and ordered off the menu and had a lamb dish and some other selections (can't quite remember anymore) -- which was pretty good. I recall the sambar being quite tasty. The second time around we managed to hit the lunch buffet and had a good fill of chicken kurma, saag paneer (spinach/cheese) and a green pea dal, fresh salad and hot, fresh naan, which was quite exceptional. Kheer for desert. Service here is exemplary. The owner is extremely kind and attentive and actually remembered us after all these months. So, definitely extra points for great customer service. We'll be back soon....

came in around 9pm with a group of 7. Waiter took our order then vanished for over 10 minutes. Food arrived and they forgot one of our dinners. Minor apology from the waitress. The missing dinner didn't arrive until all of us had finished dinner and we had paid the bill. Food is average at best. Not spicy at all and missing salt. This was the general consensus from the group. Also no beer or wine available. Very disappointed, can't recommend. SOOO many others out there to try.

$7.95 is a good deal! I just had lunch here today and was happy they had more than one vegetarian item on the service line. Everything was fresh and tasty. The gentleman who served me was very polite and considerate. I'm going back with the kids for the all-you-eat-buffet. I know I say I'm not a buffet a person but with kids some times it's a good thing. I don't do American buffets though. An Indian buffet that's a little different. The sauces were really good. Don't let the store front fool you, inside was cozy and quaint. Go here, you'll like it very much.

  • E'stormae S.

Stopped by here in between making returns at Fry's and recycling run (geez how I hate 'being green'!!! Kermit had it right.. it aint easy!!) So it was almost 1pm just in time for lunch buffet. I thought it was odd that there was only a table of three college age kids there on a saturday... but oh well.... Kid and I went in anyway to find out the score. Kinda a small buffet.. they had some samosa that looked MIGHTY good (kicking myself for not getting an order of those), rice, papadam (think indian's answer to nacho chips) tandoori chicken, dal, and Chicken Korma. I'm normally a sucker for korma, but this one looked red. Not a whole lot of choices, but I understand its a cheap buffet. For the kid and I... we decided just to get a "lunch to go" off their menu. Since I've had a gastric bypass... I ALWAYS lose at those damn buffets... dont matter how hungry I start out... I'll start to eat and my stomach seizes up and I only get down a quarter cup of food... God how I hate that!! ... so instead of buffets.. kid and I usually split a meal. We decided on Chicken Curry. It took them about 5-10 minutes. In mean time, from what I observed... they seemed to be doing small batches of grilling the meat or of making naan.. I like that... I hate when a restaurant makes huge batches of food and lets it dry up...They seemed like very very nice people. Finally after getting my food I was only able to try it after going to the gas station for a diet pepsi and getting backed into by a wench... (ahem.. relax.. relax.. no damage was done).. So here's the scoop... The naan and rice.. very good, but average.. I liked that there was some cumin seeds in there. The chicken curry... well call me crazy.. but it looked a lot like that chicken korma that was on the buffet table... didnt taste like any chicken curry I've ever had... it didnt taste very spicy or flavorful (I specifically asked her to make it spicy).. the dal was decent, but runny and kinda bland... the mixed veggie, was flavorful.. but also kinda bland... I was very glad that I just got the lunch and didnt plop down $16 for too buffets. If I were in this area I might return visit.. but since Al Watan is closer to me and has a tastier 'indian blue plate special'.. I think I would go to them instead. I dont see how everybody graded this place so high except if they're looking for bulk quantity or if they are friends with the owners. If you live there and are dying for indian food.. its better than one of those frozen dinners... but there are better places in area... somebody said to go at night that its different... I cant understand though If I order something off the buffet why its not spicier... unless like my thought was and they gave me the "korma". ... maybe it wasnt even korma, but the same dish and they change the name? Food was only about two stars... I'll give them a little higher for service.

Just for starters I haven't had much Indian that I didn't like, so consider that when you look at my 4. I've been here a few times, very friendly, great Chicken Tikka Masala, reasonable prices. All good stuff. My mom thinks there's MSG, which doesn't agree with her.

We originally ordered takeout & they delivered. Very friendly & the food was great! From then on, each time they deliver they ask about our son, he was an infant we we began using them. Now our son is 3, and the food remains awesome! We have gone in to eat, and the same personable, appreciate disposition remains. Every dish is soooo good! Thank God we took a chance on them, they did not disappoint. Great family owned business. LOVE IT!

  • Heather D.

I went for the lunch buffet and I was very disappointed. I knew at $7.95 I would be getting a no-frills buffet but the food was tasteless and bland. I love lentil dahl but Taj India's version had no flavor and was like soup. I also love mattar paneer but guess what, they used tofu instead of cheese. They even used a version that was like eating rubber. I could barely get the food past my nose. The customer service was very lacking, the manager was very friendly to me once he took my order but only approached me to give me my check. There were half a dozen guys in the restaurant and I noticed that the manager was checking up on them and making sure they had naan bread. Not once, did the manager check up on me, give me any naan bread or ask if I wanted anything else. I felt totally ignored. Sorry, I cannot recommend the lunch buffet. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, or maybe the evening dinner menu is the one to go for.

Great Indian food. I have allergies and the wonderful owner suggested a great full dinner for me. To my delightful surprise when I came back 3 weeks later he remembered me and suggested another dinner which surpassed the first. Great Indian food and needless to say extraordinory service. It doesn't get better than this wonderful place.

Ordered the Tandoori Chicken, Masala sauce on the side, and Aloo Gobi...naan and raita for apetizers. Everything was so good!! Aloo Gobi had the perfect amount of spiciness, Tandoori Chicken was all white meat and tender, Masala sauce was a nice creamy consistency that I love! Naan bread had a nice crisp on the outside, soft otherwise.. Service was friendly and attentive! Ambiance was clean and inviting.. I really have all positives to say from my experience at this place. You'll find prices to be as expected, ~ $10-15 per dish. There is a small parking lot, and if you can't find a space available, street parking is your best bet. It's even open late! Hope to come again soon and try the buffet!!

after seeing the comments on yelp, we went to try out this place for the lunch buffet, and i am so happy we did. the selection was pretty small, but everything was so yummy! i didn't try the meat dishes (vegan), but all of their veggie choices were great. they also brought out fresh, hot out of the oven naan for free. the restaurant is super clean and the people working there were very friendly and made us feel really welcome. my meat-eater friends were very happy too. did i mention the buffet is only 8 bucks?! definitely is a must-go-back lunch spot!

The selection of food is not that big but i thought it was good for the price. $8 for lunch, and the lunch time goes up to 3pm. you get free refills on the soda. and the bread that looks like tortillas is made fresh. Bakala right? The chicken and the spinach thing is good.

4 stars for food and 5 for delivery to Westchester! I think it's the only Indian place that delivers so it's a great find for me. I've ordered a few times now and it takes about an hour to arrive. The food has been great (I've ordered all kinds of dishes,) especially the naan.

Good service, great Indian food. What sets this place apart from other Indian restaurants in LA is their generous portions. Typically, @ other Indian restaurants, i order two dishes for dinner and can completely finish them without much effort. But @ Taj Indian Palace, i ordered two dishes and by the time i'm stuffed, still had enough for lunch the next day!

My experiences with good food originate from New York, therefore I have an area of expertise others may not have. The food here is fresh and delicious. The lunch buffet is priced right at around $9. The owner and his staff are warm and friendly always at your service. Also to mention is my Indian background and scrutiny towards any Indian food that is not worthy. This place is worthy! Period!

Yum! Just ordered here for the first time, delivery service. They did the drop a flyer on your doorstep and this time I saw Indian and said hmmm been looking for an indian local spot...and Yum to my surprise they are pretty good! I got the chicken korma and the lamb tikki masala, the peas n rice with raisins n cashews and the garlic and plain naan and veggie samosas. The naan is super yummy and fresh, stick with the garlic as it isn't too garlicky but gives you a little flavor which is nice. The lamb and chicken meat is good, the curry sauce is flavorful, the veggie samosa was so fresh n good, very good actually! I will be ordering from here often...also they told me 30-40 mins and got here much faster than that. They were friendly, reasonably priced and good quality. Yippee for flyer soliciting!

Gonna give you guys 4 stars so that I don't sway the score one way or another. But the fact is, you have sent me away twice, disappointed. I ask how much it would cost me to fill up a box at the lunch buffet and take it to go. I don't have much time for lunch during the week. Wow. Not even an option. It should be. OK, I tell myself. No Indian food during the week for me. I'll come back on the weekend. They open at 11, right? Wrong. Sign on the door. OPEN AT 1 PM. No other explanation. Strike 2. Will I try again? Who knows? As of now, I'm thinking Rosecrans is the best place to go when I want some buffet action. Have never been disappointed there.

I went back for another go. The lunchtime buffet was about the same as last time. Tasty, but the Chicken Korma quickly became a pool of Korma and was left that way. Their Kheer is thick and creamy, though. I have to give the service major Kudos though. Good round this time, and this buys them another star from me!

Perfect amount of spice and the naan (less than $3) bread with the raisins cinnamon was amazing... Its pretty affordable for dinner for 2 only $20.. By far worth the drive from where I live in Santa Monica...

4 stars for food, 5 stars for the BYOB with NO CORKAGE... Really good Indian though never spicy enough for me (I ask for it very, very spicy)... Assorted Naans are excellent, Samosas rock and the curries are quite complex. Owner is genuinely nice and the server (I think it is his wife) is somewhat slow though he jumps in to help her. I am now a regular and go once per week...

I'm an Indian. I came across these reviews while looking for a Indian restaurant near by LAX and decided to try this Restaurant. After my lunch here. I was shocked as this is no way related to the reviews I read online. I came back and saw if any of these reviews were written by an Indian and didn't find any. Please don't come to a conclusion on Indian food after eating hear. Authentic Indian food is far different from this. I tried many Indian restaurants in LA and none of them are good.Suggest me if you know any .( Annapurna restaurant in Culver city is OK. But, It's a vegetarian restaurant) I suggest not to order a biryani, they just gave me some coloured rice with cooked chicken and no flavor of spices in it. Naan is good as they are making it fresh. especially Indians keep away from this restaurant. The parking is congested. I gave 2* as the service is good.

New restaurant in town! That in itself is always exciting.... but an INDIAN one - now that's worth shouting about! I just tried it for the first time and had the lunch buffet - always a challenge for any restaurant. The dishes were mild, as they would have to be for a "general" eating crowd. The spicy eggplant was phenomenal. Ravi (the manager) is a sweetheart and truly cares what his patrons think. The raita, unfortunately, was waaaayy too bland and the kheer (my favorite) was also bland -- needed cardomom and a bit more sugar. The samosas were absolutely fabulous, the naan fresh, and the tandoori tasty. Each table gets a plate of pakoras -- quite a nice touch - and they were also delicious. I am definitely going back and can't wait to try from the regular menu. I'm craving the samosas already.

Thank you fellow yelpers! I was at the Custom Hotel for some event, and by the time I got there, all the good appetizers were gone. So I went onto yelp to see what was close by, and this place popped up with good reviews, and less than a mile away. Sold. The place itself is nicely decorated with a dark candlelit ambience. We ordered the appetizer sampler, the mushroom saag, and a garlic naan - all to share. The bf ate all the veggie appetizers off the sampler, and I had the meat. I'd never had a Keema Samosa (lamb) before, and it was quite tasty, especially with their spicy green chutney! And the mushroom saag was soooo good, piping hot and fresh. I don't know how they did it, but the big chunks of mushrooms that were hidden away in the delicious sauce were flavorful and juicy, an awesome texture that I'm still baffled as to how they accomplished it...I'd like to know for my own cooking adventures. The garlic naan was ridiculously good! I saw the guy in the kitchen hand shaping it, so you know it's quite fresh. It was buttery, crispy but not burnt, and the garlic was prevalent but not overpowering. Probably the best naan I've had in LA so far. Overall a great find on the West side!

I can't remember when I've had Indian food that was so good! I can't believe I have lived in this neighborhood 12 years and never found this place! And they deliver! I can't wait to try everything on the menu. So far I had saag paneer and chicken tikka masala and they were great. My friends had butter chicken and also raved. I can't wait to try the tandoori.

I've lived right by Taj for years and never really noticed it. I tried it the other day and got the mixed tandoor grill. It was awesome, reallly flavorful meat. It's really good if you dip it in the sweet brown sauce too. (dont know what it's called) I even ate the fish, and i dislike fish generally. Just like other reviewers say, the owner is lovely and has a genteel professionality. the prices are awesome, besting tandoor-a-india.

Taj India Palace in Westchester has delicious food and great people. The menu had all the dishes you would expect. Was a comfortable environment. I brought my kids (both young) so I ordered mild dishes for them and spicy for myself. While eating, the owner Ravi introduced himself and sincerely asked how we were enjoying the meal. He considerate and brought my kids a mango chutney. We all enjoyed our meals although I will ask for my dish to be spicier next time. I think he is popular with the locals because I noticed he greeted most customers by name when they came in. Worth trying, not expensive.

The lunch buffet special is well-priced and the food is AWESOME. The service is great too. Always want to go back! :)

As this is my first review I am going with my recent fave. This place is by my office and it delivers. I even have a fellow coworker hooked. She calls to ask what it is I normally order. The regular is the #14 Chicken Tikka Masala. The sauce is awesome and I can't get enough. The service is great and every now and then they throw in some freebies. Can't say enough good things about this place. Great food and great service=love.

Went there for the lunch buffet. The service was pleasant, the naan was hot fresh and tasty. I typically dont eat tandori chicken , but Taj's offering was pretty good. The tandori chicken was flavorful. I am disappointed by the limited selection. I thought they would have more, but the few dishes in themselves were watery and lacked rich flavor. It's not bad for a $8 lunch. But I'm going to have to see if there are better places as equally convenient to work to go before heading back again.

I love the lunch buffet. It's 7.95 and you have a great assortment of dishes. And the naan is tasty and plentiful. I've been in a number of times and the owner is always friendly. And they offer two types of dessert- one always being a frsh fruit option. That's unique and the fruit is fresh. Enjoy

Dinner tonight. Nice server but crappy food. Small tasteless food. Had their combo and lamb dish with garlic nana bread Maybe the other choices are better but I won't be back to try it.

Westchester has great Indian food! I went here yesterday for lunch. The food is decent and not so overpriced to make you gag! Friendly staff and the decor is cute. Parking was a lucky shot for me. Will be back again!

Stumbled into this place after passing on their neighbors crepes. We almost left when we saw the prices but decided that it would be rude to drink the water and run. Very good decision to stay. We tried the Chicken Tikka Masala and all loved it. Garlic naan tasted twice as good as it smelled, and it smelled wonderful. The portions looked a little small but the four of us ate for under $60.00 which wasn't too bad. Our pickiest eater, who just recently started to try different foods, loved this place. We'll be back for the $7.95 lunch buffet.

We got a flyer from this place in our mail so we decided to give it a try. Being a fan of very ethnic and spicy flavors, we were excited to see what this place was all about. The first time we went, there were a few other filled tables. We ordered the combination plate which comes with your choice of main (various:beef, chicken, lamb, shrimp or seafood curries, tandoori), vegetable curry, lentil curry, salad or yogurt/cucumber mix, rice and baked to order naan (yummmmmy!). We got the chicken tandoori and lamb in spinach curry sauce. (they all have specific Indian names but I can't remember them now). Both were very good but the tandoori took over 20 minutes so we were pretty much starving by the time it came. Then we went back there again recently and the guy (maybe the owner?) came to us, all smiles, shook our hands, seemed like he remembered us from the first time! We tried the other combo platters and this time, food came pretty quickly even though they had a big party of about 15 people plus several other tables. The place seems to already have a good following so far. The service can still be a little bit slow or not attentive enough but I can see they're really trying. I hope they continue to do well. We'll be back there again for sure!

This is our new favorite local indian place! The vegetarian dishes are all amazing, and the employees are the nicest! Prices are decent AND they deliver to the neighborhood, so we've been eating their naan, veggie korma, samosas & aloo gobi often!

Taj has tasty food at reasonable prices. We love their nan, the chicken tikka masala, and most of their vegetable dishes. The staff is super friendly. During lunch they serve a decent buffet for 7.95. We usually order delivery from here, but the restaurant is clean with a good amount of seating. We have been eating here for over a year and have had consistently great food with wonderful service. I really enjoy this place:)

Pretty good Indian food. We ordered a ton of takeout - everything from veggie samosa to chicken tikka, chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi, chicken makhani, and Shrimp Karahi. Naan was made just before we left the restaurant so it was still nice and hot when we got home. Really nice people and the prices were very reasonable.

The buffet really lacked variety although everything I had was decent tasting. I imagine that going here for dinner would be a better experience. Other Indian buffets simply offer much more selection for the same price. Meh.

Their food is average Indian food. The good thing is that they deliver.

This is good Indian food, probably 3 1/2 stars but if you are stuck at LAX area the buffet is excellent value. The nan bread is fine, but not really good so the whole meal for me was a little off. Other than the nan, i thought it was very good.

We got take out. The staff was very friendly and the food was ready quickly. Highly recommend the chicken makhani. Unfortunately the spices didn't sit well with the girlfriend but i may try out the buffet on my own sometime. Will definitely be back.

This place has has the best service. Everyone is so attentive and friendly. The owner remembers you when you come back and always has a smile on his face. The lunch buffet is tasty and a steal at $8. I recommed the Chicken Vindalu. The nan is excellent and fresh. Try the garlic nan!

My regular spot, absolutely love the tiki masala, but the shai paneer really gets me. Great service!! Order from here regularly enough that its part of my weekly food ritual.

This new kid on the block is pretty good, considering they just opened. I tend to be a little stingy with my stars for Indian restaurants, as I have very, very high standards for my favorite cuisine. My friend and I, both neighborhood locals, decided to try out this new place after my cabbie the week before had informed me that his family had just opened a restaurant down the block. Indian? I'm in. We ordered mushroom vindaloo (not on the menu, but they made a vegetarian version for moi) and vegetable korma. We'd asked for spicy, but both dishes were as mild as can be -- still flavorful, but it seems as if this is one of those places where you'll have to convince them that gringos really can tolerate capsaicin in high quantities. But I'll definitely go back, and will certainly be ordering in (yay! They deliver!). I foresee myself tacking on an extra star in the near future after these minor kinks are worked out.

The only Indian restaurant in the area. They did a nice face-lift to what the place was before (a Mexican restaurant).

love Love LOVE this place!!!! Since it opened, I have recommended it to everyone I know! the atmosphere is nice, the service is exemplary, staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is GREAT! healthily prepared, perfectly seasoned, high quality ingredients. And reasonably priced. I eat here (or get delivery/take-out) once or twice a month since they opened.

What a great place. We came here - a family of four picky eaters - and all loved it. My kids, my vegan husband and I. The service was great and the staff friendly. We came for dinner, so didn't have the buffet, but the food was yummy anyway. It's hard to please the diverse food habits in our family, but this did it!

I recently became a full vegetarian so I've been ordering from here about once a week! Still LOVE the food!! Ordered my usual last night (they know us by name there) and the owner (i must learn his name) had thrown in an order of rice pudding because "he knows that we like it". YUMMY!

My boyfriend and I were craving an Indian lunch buffet and after stopping by two other Indian restaurants that didn't have buffets, we ended up here (yes... we really wanted the buffet style. Haha.). This place is great! They have the lunch buffet every day and it's under $8! How awesome is that?! The food was all very good and there were plenty of choices (both vegetarian and non-veg). The naan was nice and warm as was all the food. The service was prompt and everyone was friendly. The restaurant is a good size and well decorated. The only thing I don't like about this place is the location. It shares a tiny, tiny parking lot with a number of other stores and street parking is a little difficult. We were lucky to get a spot in the lot since we went around 1:30p during the week. But don't let the parking detour you from the awesome food here. If you are not a buffet person or if you come when they aren't having it (I think it ends at 2p or 3p) you can also order from the menu. They have all the basics and everything looks so good. We are definitely going to become regulars to this place... I'm already craving it! Nom!

The best Chicken Tika Marsalla I have ever tasted. All the dishes reflect the fresh herbs used that make all the difference in preparing good Indian dishes. The service is a little slow - European style. It is rude in some countries to disturb the people too much. But, when I ask for the check it is there quickly. They have an all you can eat Lunch which is a not to be missed bargain meal.

I've not actually been to this location, so this review is based upon the food delivery. We were looking for Indian delivery late one night and all our usual places were no longer delivering. Taj came to our rescue and we've since ordered several times. Delicious food, and the staff is very friendly. Give it a try.

This is my new favorite Indian restaurant. My first experience with this place was through their FREE Delivery. It was a joyful surprise. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is delish. Their Vegetable Samosa's, Lamb Saag, yummy Tamarind sauce, Naan, Rice are all sensational. I ordered them again for dinner last night (2x in 1 week) through delivery. They are super fast w/delivery and their prices are amazing as well. Give it a try!!

ok so i was super excited to have Indian food yesterday. so i went to local indian food place (plus it had good yelp reviews) and either i ordered the wrong thing or something strange is going on. first off, the couple taking my order (which i'm assuming are the owners) wouln't stop fighting in front of me. listen, i'm asian, so that didn't faze me too much. the food looked good and smelled great. taste, on the other hand, was not what i was expecting. Indian food is supposed to be known for thier rich flavors and exotic tastes. the chicken tandori and garlic naan, however, had neither. disappointed...

This restaurant is right down the street from where I work, so I usually get the food to go and it is incredible! The people there have great customer service and are so friendly and nice. The parking is limited which is why most businesses in that complex go under after only a few years. But this place is well worth the effort. The lunch buffet is amazing, and the attitude of the family who runs it really makes you want to support this local business. By FAR my favorite Indian food in the area (i've lived in Westchester for 10+ years, and the dining scene can be a little uninspiring at times). I've seen a lot of restaurants come and go from this location, but this is one I really hope sticks around. (even if it means I have to eat my own weight in samosas!)

We've been going to Taj India Palace for dinner every month or so since it opened, and the food has been delicious every time. The owners are delightful. Everyone is friendly and it's a great place to take the whole family. How great to have superb Indian food right in the neighborhood!

i ordered the mataz paneez (vegetarian: peas w/ homemade cheese) curry to-go that thing burned my fingers! it's really hot! so caution! anyway.. the curry was pretty good... the cheese on the other hand.. didn't taste like cheese? it had a hard-tofu texture... i thought it was tofu... and i ordered the dessert gulab jamun (cheesecake balls in sweet sauce)... okay it's not "lightly sweetened" it's tooo sweet.. so sweet that u cannot taste the cheesecake flavor.. (okay i got everything cheesy) but... the dessert thing was way too sweet... but it was really really delicious! less sugar, then it'd taste a lot better! gay thing about this place is they charged me for a side of rice?? doesn't curry usually come with rice? i don't know.. but usually asian restaurants gives out rice for free.............. the owner seemed a little impatient when i asked him which curry was good... he just rushed me to get one.. other than that.. place is clean..
